In The Revealers, Russell, Catalina, and Elliot feel that they cannot go to their teachers or parents about being mistreated at school.
Why do they decide to handle the situation themselves? What do you think a teacher or administrator should do when he/she receives a report from a student about being bullied?
Sometimes it is easier to handle situations like bullying by yourselves because when you tell adults it sometimes people think that you are a punk or your scared because you tried to do the good and safe thing by telling an adult. I think that an adult should give a bully serious consequenses and make them talk to the guidance councelor about why they bully poeple poeple the way they do.
ReplyDeletethey decide to solve the problem on there on because if they tell they might come to school and shoot them or if they tell and a guidence consuler confronts them about the problem then they will know who told and then the bully will really try to hurt them
ReplyDeleteI think that the characters in this book are a little bit scared to tell a teacher that they might get picked on more. If they did tell a teacher thant maybe the teacher would do something about the bully.
ReplyDeleteI think that they are scared to go to a teacher because if the teacher told the bully to stop the bully would just beat them harder and more offen which is why they don't tell anybody.
ReplyDeletei agree with Carson because if you tell and somebody is near you that is helping a bully and they find out that you told on that bully then they are going to tell the bully and you are going too get two times the bullying than you ever did get.
ReplyDeleteif they tell the teacher the teacher might bully the student if you think about it because when catalina went into the classroom she stood up and the teacher sorta made fun of her because she stood up in class because that is what she is used to doing ya know and then if i were them i wouldn't post anything up on some KidNet because the person would know who i was and then they would come and beat me up again and that would not be good so i can understand why he would not want them to get more but it is also a good idea because then the bully might get scared and then run away because they were scared to tell the truth and they wouldn't want their names revealed because they know that that was wrong.

ReplyDeleteIt is better to handle thing like that by your self then go to the teacher.I think that the teacher can not do much about it because they do not no much about it.I think they handle it there self they did not want the teacher to no about it.

ReplyDeleteWell Sometimes I think it is real easier to handle it yourselves because,sometimes you know why people are doing it, but then you don't know and if it gets way out of hand you should say something or do something and if it gets way-way out of hand you sould go to a teacher or a parnet and tell them what's going on. Then if the Kid or Kids find out you told your parnets or parnet and the school and the teachers, then they might call you a punk and say you are scared. Then you just leave that person a lone.
ReplyDeleteI think that somtimes the child or children being bullied does not fill comfortable talking or discussing it with a parent or adult. I think that if an administator or teacher sees or hears about somone being bullied they should meet with both the bully and person being bullied and see if they could become friends or just not confront each other unless they have somthing nice to say or do.

ReplyDeleteMost schools dont handle situations like this very well.If they did most of the bulling around the world wouldnt be like it is now...Teachers do see people bulling.But they sometimes just leave it alone.Some kids just find away to handle it.But they arent good ways...
ReplyDeleteI think that they decided to handle the situation themselves because most of the time when you go to teachers, they may fix the problem while you are in school, but off school grounds cannot keep the bully from coming up and hitting them. and when someone comes and tells a teacher that he/she is being bullied they should try to seperate them as much as possible.

ReplyDeletethat the teacher or person schould keep a close eye on the person who says that they are geting picked on and the person who is accused on bullying so that the adult doesn't make the wrong solution to the problem and maybe he schould ask the person if he has been bullying anyone without useing a name and if the person says no then u schould still keep a close eye on them unless u believe them and if the teacher or adult can solve the problem try solveing the problem your self without geting yourself into a lot of troble by geting in a fight so maybe your schould try talking to the bully to see why he/she is picking on your a lot.

ReplyDeleteI think people handle situiations in there own hands because they might haved asked for help for this problem and they didn't do anything about it so they feel like there alone and have to solve this problem themselves if a teacher here about this they need to not write this person up but to try to help him and if that don't work then do what you got to do.

ReplyDeleteI think that when a teacher get a report of a child been bully they should that action.For my opinion i think that the child that bullies another child should have O.S.S for a few day to see if they change their mine about bulling another people.
ReplyDeleteI think they decide to take matters into there own hands because teachers don't realy do anything about it.They just send you to the guidance office or just think you're crazy.Teachers should have the victim and the bullier try to talk it out first.If that doesn't work to well they could try to maybe if the students have a class together they could try to get the time of one student's class time changed.

I THINK THEY SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT RIGHT AWAY RIGHT WHEN THEY RECIVE THE NOTE!! OR THE TEACHER SHOULD GET PUNISHED FOR NOT REPORTING THEM TO THE TEACHER AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!
